Surprising Gamay

Like a Fou du Roi in the court of the great monarchs, the character of the Gamay is playful and charming. Some people take it for a commoner: they will be impressed. In the glass, the Fou du Roi unveils aromas of gooseberry, cigar and praline. In the mouth its fruity tone develops surprisingly. Its very drinkable nature makes it a good companion for meats and meat sauces. It is also a superb red wine for appetisers and in haute cuisine, where subtlety is prioritised over strength.
